"Hi Guys. I am replacing the prop on my bigfoot, and am wanting to increase the mid range - top end speed of the unit.
I am unsure if a 13 x 17, or perhaps a 13 x 19 or bigger, 3 or 4 blade prop would be best suited.
I use the boat mainly out of sheltered waters.
Input would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks Kiwintas."

"Hi there,

Need more info first...

What rig and weight thereof?
What prop are you currently using?

Remember, there is no "good all-round prop". Each pitch is suited to the conditions of the day, ie loading, weather conditions and so on. You will lose top-end if you need a fast holeshot and vice-versa.

Once you can give us an idea on all the above info, we'll gladly assist!

Regards!

Benjamin."

Another thing to keep in mind.

Another thing to keep in mind. The "bigfoots" were primarily designed to push alot of weight at a lower speed than their "normal" counterparts.

Their target market was the pontoon boats or as kickers for larger heavier boats. Their gear ratio is considerably lower and meant to turn a lower pitched prop. You may not get the desired results after spending $$$...

"G'day again.
The Bigfoot

"G'day again.
The Bigfoot is on a 18 foot aluminium dinghy.
The typical weight of the boat is around the 700kg mark, including myself and fishing gear.
The current prop is a 13 3/4 x 13p, aluminium, 3 blade, and being a aft tiller control, i am unsure of the WOT, but have asertained that the rpm should be between 5500- 6000, but have no way of checking this.
The max speed with this prop is around the 22 knot- 24 knot mark.
Thanks."

"if they are the rough numbers

"if they are the rough numbers ,Id test a 13p and 15p Stainless prop.Just a note i am a big stainless fan, aluminium would do the job."
