"Can anyone help, I have recently come across 2 Mariner outboard motors that haven't run in a long time(3-5years)on both. I would like to know what years' they are, and what I need to do to them to get them running again? Thank you...."

The 4M should start 6E0-...... and the 25 will be either 648, 690 or 695-......

Since you posted them as 4M and 25M that indicates that they are both Japanese models built by Yamaha for Merc...."

The 4 horse is a 1984 "A&#

The 4 horse is a 1984 "A" model long shaft (kinda rare - the longshaft part) and the 25 is a 1982 model.

Both were built by Yamaha for Mercury and both will run fine at 50:1 with regular unleaded gas and TCW3 rated marine 2 stroke oil.
