Hi I have a Mariner 40BE 676 BL 407154.
The motor itself is in great condition. However the 2 nylon fittings that screw onto the shift and throttle cables are no good. Do these parts have part numbers and my next question are they still available. Many thanks in advance. It would also be handy to know its year of manufacture. I understand its a motor built by Yamaha for Mariner.

Yes, you have a Yamaha built (marketed by Merc), 1980 "B" model, electric start, longshaft (20").

The B's are somewhat orphaned now, they were replaced by the C models which were super popular for both Yami and Merc.

Anyhow, if you are asking about the little cable ends that just screw onto the end of a standard cable (such as Morse/Teleflex 3300 cables), they are still available through the Merc parts system.

Merc part number 83720M (is just the little end), about $7.50 each or if you need the whole shebang (the end, pin, keeper, spring, washer) that's part number 83719M - sells for about 27 bucks for each cable.

If the dealer doesn't have them in stock they can get them from Merc - still very much stocked...
