I have what I thought was a 1979 Mariner 40be made by yamaha. When I look up the serial # it says 40EL. Can anyone provide insight? I’m trying to find the weight and parts.

From what I see it is a 1979 model year Mariner 40BE model.

I am in the USA. Yamaha did not start distributing motors here until 1984.

For what it is worth, a 1984 Yamaha 40SN (no electric start) weighs nominally 150 pounds.
