Mariner 40 singledual carbs

"Hello J.I.T., Just bought 40hp 2-stroke single carb motor.Can it be run next to 2-stroke dual carbs? Have spare plate+dual carbs for Mariner. Is it easy to just remove single carb+plate and fit the dual carbs?. Single carb for 2-stroke more or less economical than dual carbs?. Tks for info. JeanW"
