mariner 40 hp japan made

hello folks need help, i just bought a wee boat. It came with a mariner 40 hp japan made, need to know what the fuel/oil mix is and if possible to find out what year it is ??

its a mariner 40hp 6e9 L manual start, thats all i know, some say 100:1 others say 50:1

Go with 50:1. Oil is cheaper than rebuilds.
