"Alex, that's a 1989 Yamaha built Mariner.

I can't find a listing for an original owners manual from Merc, but for this model I would personally use Seloc's manual for 1 and 2 cylinder Mariners (1977-89 version).

And yes, I do own and use that manual

Most parts you may need for regular maintenance are available from any Merc dealer."

"Yamaha built these models for Mercury with Yamaha parts. Mercury continues to stock the parts for their yamaha built models, but no, they are not interchangeable with (normal) mercury engines.

I believe that Andrew, who runs this site can send manuals internationally. He carries the manual I mention for 35 bucks (US). Check out the top left of this screen."

"Thanks again Graham,I took your advise regarding Yamaha producing this o.b for Mariner and I did found that Yamaha 4hp 1989 is indeed my o.b brother. It's realy the same one.
Yamaha manual for a 4h.p from 1998 (the erliest Yamaha provides deals with this very o.b.Easy to unloud, very detailed.
By the way, manual recomand 1:100 gasoline/engine oil mix.I used to run it on 1:50 ,for less smoke I would like to shift to the lower 1% recomandation, what is your opinion ?.

"Although the motors may appear to be the same, the Mariner was based on an earlier Yamaha model.

While Yamaha did get to the point where there engines will run on 100:1, you should stick to 50:1 - your 89 Mariner is actually the earlier 81 Yami - so 50:1 is still in order."
