hi ihave a mariner 30 that i just bought serial no 689s 233094 the help i need is the cable coming from recoil starter to the engine the part that it fits on is mising just a bolt and a bush with a grove in it wat do i need to sort this. why would it be removed a photo of the part would be great. wat does this cable do hope that you will help .

It is to prevent the motor from being started when in gear I believe.-----------A reasonable operator would not need that device / feature.

i came on to this forum as was told it was very helpfull and i think it might be but when you get judged as being a UNREASONABLE USER by someone that you have never mett i am not so sure. but going back to mr smarty RACERONE by the answer you gave i dont think you are sure yoursellf. i dont think you will ever need to ask for help being so clever.

Thanks for the compliment !----------Someone obviously disabled the safety feature on your motor.-----------------They thought it was not needed !!---------I own numerous motors and I do not need help to rebuild them !!
