"I am new to this and need some assistance for some parts. I bought a boat that shows a ticket for a new Mariner 30 in April of 2002. It is 30ML 689L 533373. Can anyone tell me the actual year of the motor.

"Ken, that is a 1991 Yamaha bu

"Ken, that is a 1991 Yamaha built (for Merc) model. The last Yami/Mariners were produced in 1992.

So that "new mariner" 2002 may have been a motor "new to the boat" but definately not a new motor.

That particular model that you have is a carbon copy of Yamaha's own model 30AM which they sold under their own colours between 1979 thru 1985 (when they discontinued it), but continued to produce it for Merc under their Mariner line."

I HAVE A 1989 30HP MARINER IT IS HARD TO TURN THE MOTOR I COULD NOT FIND A GREASE FITTING ON TOP HOW COULD I FREE IT UP

"I wish I could help you all out, but I barely know enough to get mine going. Just FYI.....I had to dump old gas and mixture, add new stuff, and drain the bowl in the carburetor and clean out with good spray....works like a dream.}"
