"Neighborhood kid just stopped by with his semi-running engine. It ran well last year. Is a factory manual available for this engine or is Seloc/Clymer the only way to go?
Model 2M Code 6A1 Serial # 105299. Japan
He was told it is a 91' but I think more likely 88' or 89'?
I really think he just needs a carb kit? Are these still available w/ a Merc Dealer? Carb kit does not seem available from this site for anything under 6HP.
It runs then doesn't run, and it intermittenly leaks gas out the carb.

"Jim, it's actually an 86, Yamaha built "B" model Mariner.

A complete carb kit (part number 41859M) is still available from Merc for about 50 bucks - alternately, a number of carb components (gaskets etc) are still also available individually.

An entire new carb is still on the market as well for just under 100 bucks..."
