I have a 25hp Mariner outboard motor. Recently while on a fishing trip I hit a rock with the prop. I was just about where I wanted to be so I shut it down and started fishing. It fired right up when I was ready to go, but while increasing the throttle the boat would go nowhere. The prop spins on the shaft, but it spins freely. I took it apart and looked for a sheer pin but couldn’t find one, it looks like it may mesh together with notches on a washer? I let the motor run just above idle and it was enough spin/power to limp me home. Any ideas on what this could be or how to fix it? really appreciate the help! Thanks!
