"Heavy and powerless at less than full rpms compared to a two stroke, but very quiet and good on gas.

"11 years old is "old" for a 4 stroke if it hasn't been maintained. You can't think of them the same way you would a used 2 stroke. This should have been serviced on a number of occasions during it's lifetime. It has moving parts and pieces that you don't find on it's two stroke cousins, that needed to be set or adjusted at the set service intervals.

I would want the motor meticulously checked over by a tech before finalizing purchase."
