I am frustrated - mainly because my motor on my bass boat won't start at some lakes and most certainly not at the repair shop. Just acts like it isn't sparking. This has been going on for a couple years and the mechanic cannot reproduce it. I am looking for ideas on what to look for. We are going to check all wiring tonight, maybe something will stick out. We had the entire fuel system gone through, new hoses and fuel filter. Before I ditch the boat and get another one, I thought I would ask you for ideas and maybe we can all learn from my problem!
The Stator was replaced a couple years ago, some of the gages don't work, speedometer, not that it would matter. Mechanic called today and said it would start and he has no idea.

The repair shop checked the spark plugs - disconnected one side, it started, disconnected the other side, it started. Is it possible there is a air bubble or something that is causing it to not start for several hours? Anyone have this problem?

Does the engine crank but not fire up or sputter or anything? The compression is what on each cylinder...don't just say it's good? Spark test on each plug wire shows what color? Is the spark loud and snapping?
