mariner 2.5l 200hp problem

my motor starts but once you put in gear it dies. compression test done results were 50% compression. motor was over heated once as soon as buzzer sounded motor was shut off. originally i was thinking rings were shot but cylinder walls appear to be in good shape which now leads me to think that it would probably just need a new head gasket but would like an outside opinion.

idk thats what i was told by marina lol maybe he ment 50psi???

if you have 50 PSI you have a big problem

It can be head gasket, bad piston, rings....I would remove heads and look for bad gasket
