Hi, I have an old Mariner 175 horsepower motor,( S/No 5316687), which has been a great performer for years, It has been parked up for some time without use but I recently ran it and after a short run a buzzer sounded which I think is an overheating warning?
There was no water coming out the tell tale at the back so I thought the water pump impeller must have failed although it had not run much since a new one had been fitted.
I have checked it and the impeller seems fine, does anyone know what the likely cause of the problem is?
