marine ignition

hello i know you must have a marine distributor and alternator,but is there any real difference in the chrysler electronic ignition control unit or module? it is sealed on the back and the plug screws in looks pretty water resistant.dont see any chance for sparks...etc it mounts up by ballast resistor

thanks 4 the help fellas the old ignition was so rusted up that i couldnt read the numbers.anyway i ran across a man running a boat yard just so happens he has the MARINE dist.ign module,and alternator all us coast guard approved. i get it now DONT use auto parts they can cause a spaark in the wrong engine room and your sitting on a bomb....be safe boaters and enjoy........
