"hi guys i am new at boating w

"hi guys i am new at boating with a boat that has a bigger outboard. mainly 9 and 10hp's. bought a 20' with a 100hp evinrude. has got manual tilt with 2 piston assist. have found the tilt adjustment bar, but cannot figure out how to let it down. i've stared at it for 2 days now and can't find any release or lever. bought boat 2 weeks ago and am dying to try out! PLEASE HELP!"

My outboard has a transport position with a notch in it that locks it into place in the up/stowed position. You have to lift the motor up to release the pin. I would try lifting your outboard and look for a locking pin that releases.

"anytime James, the locking pin on mine is on the port side, and in order to lock it in/out, I have to turn my wheel full lock to the right in order to get it to go up enough to unlock it.

i found it. it actually has one on each side that have to be done in the right order.i had a great time watching the fireworks from the boat with my family. i really appreciate the help"

need help on changing tilt motor to 70 hp ob. need to know how to get engine out of way to get to back bolts on tilt motor. any body please.

"easiest way is to rig up a hoist in the garage, remove the cover, attach to the lift ring on the stern part of the motor and lift!! You can have the whole job done in less than 30 minutes if you have all the parts on hand!"
