Hello, I am a newbee here and lots of problems with my 1967, 17ft chris Cavalier. No 1, water in the oil and crank case pressure build up. No2, where would be a place to send logs out for rebuild?Tom

Tom, can you post a few photos of this engine for us?

This is a 1967 engine.
If in 46 years the exhaust system has been replaced even 3 X's, that's an average of approx 15 years use per set.
After 15 years or so, I'd not attempt to "rebuild" them (which is actually cleaning and inspecting)...... I'd simply replace them.

If you do have them cleaned out..... be sure to have them warmed up and pressure tested.
(warm may reveal a crack that while cold it may not)

A machine shop can also do a Magnaflux check on each component.

If you end up replacing them, consider going to a center rise style.

Ricardo, I pulled the logs and have visable cracks. Could this be the problem with water in the crankcase oil and excessive pressure build up sufficiently to blow the dip stick out??
Thanks
I could not post a pix!

Nope,.... Busted manifolds won't do that,...
But,....
If the manifolds are busted because of Freeze damage, chances are the block wasn't winterized either,...
A Frozen Busted block will do that,...

if that's the case, ya need a Complete new bobtail motor,...

Thanks bondo, I can not see any cracks in the block, but that dont mean they are not there. The drains were closed when i got it as a gift.
