Mallory YLM579AV Right or Long ?

OK Tried to install the YLM579AV today. It's 1/2 in' to long. Im sure. Talking to Jeggs where I bought it and they are sure it's the right item. I have them side by side and it"s to long. Any thoughts ? Thanks

Do you have the distributor tower/extension for the reverse rotation motor? That fits in the hole for the distributor and keeps reverse rotation oil pump drives from climbing off the cam. It is about that long.
