"I RECENTLY REPLACED BOTH OF MY DIST ON MY 1973 440S. IN DOING SO I HAD TO REMOVE THE OLD SLEEVE THE DIST FITTED IN TO MAKE THE MALLORYS FIT,STARTED BOTH ENGINES RAN FINE,IDLED FINE,NOW I AM WONDERING IF DOWN THE ROAD IF I WILL RUN INTO ANY TROUBLE BY REMOVING THOSE SLEEVES.

You might. The reverse rotato

You might. The reverse rotator motor puts the thrust load on the distributor the other way. I hope Mallory thought of that.

THat sleeve was used by Chrysler with a special thrust bearing in the distibutor.
