Wow I’d say! Salt water use I guess! I have had a couple of axles made for my trailer over the years by Champion Trailers in Slidell La.,they do very good work..

Saw a trailer being repaired a few years ago.-----Frame cross pieces were bent ( factory ) and no drain holes at the low points.-----I suppose you could " hear " these things rusting away.
