Has anyone seen or used a pro

Has anyone seen or used a prop saver? I run my boat in the flats and some times seem to find oysters and rocks. Has anyone used or seen prop savers? Will it reduce HP or will it effect performance? The only one I can find that will fit on a 1984 Johnson 140 is Mac's River Runner. Do they really work. Any other brands??

EXPLAIN THIS OYSTER HOW CAN A HARDWARE ATTACHMENT TO YOUR BOAT CAUSE THE POWERHEAD OF YOUR ENGINE TO LOSE HORSEPOWER!!!!!!! THAT WOULD BE LIKE SAYING A FISHFINDER CAUSED MY 225 EFI PROMAX TO BECOME A 200 EFI PROMAX IT DONT WORK however you will notice about 5-10% reduction in speed DUE TO DRAG!!! not loss of HORSEPOWER but your HOLESHOT may improve due to the hydroplane effect at takeoff BTW Mac's River Runner works only as well as your skeg is strong!!!! RECCOMEND A STAINLESS PROPELLER because they will take a hit much harder than that ALUMINUM skeg will.

A stainless prop when you kno

A stainless prop when you know you are in shallow water???? Talk about a mistake.Stainless props do not behave like a "fuse" and lead to bent propshafts.If you are in shallow water use an aluminum prop.Just two cents worth.

Don't waste your time with that contraption. Of course it will reduce performance. Why would anyone want to drill a few extra holes in a skeg or cavitation plate anyway?

Stainless prop? Now I've heard everything.

I always tell my customers that it is better to learn to be more careful and use safe boating techniques.
