Lync & Sync 1991 200 Hp V6 Question

HI All. Long time no post.... I have rebuilt the carbs on mt 91 200 HP and am in the process of re-installing them.

In doing the lync & Sync process I have found what I believe to be an error in my manual and as such want to ask the experts.

The manual says to ensure that the throttle stop screw must be set to ensure the butterflies open fully without the throttle shafts acting as a stop for the throttle itself. To do this it points in the manual to what believe is the Maximum spark advance screw and not the throttle stop.

i have attached a photo of the motor and attached labels to the pieces as I understand them, can anyone confirm if my labels are correct.

Another thing I have picked up is that when the motor is off during this process when I move the throttle to what I believe is WOT (The Carb Butterflies are all the way open) the maximum spark advance stop is not at the maximum point. I can move it there by hand and was thinking perhaps when running some kind of centrifugal or other mechanism moves it to the stop.

Thanks,

Thanks for the reply Racerone. I was referring to possible centrifugal force generated by the rotation of the flywheel acting on the Spark advance lever. Put the throttle cable back on and completed the lync and sync again and all is now working as required. There is however an error in not only my seloc manual but the original Merc manuals too. They refer to the maximum spark advance adjustment for that purpose as well as for the WOT throttle stop, unless my english is not the same english..... For anyone reading this my labeling is correct for this motor.
