"On my lower unit the water pump there is a cover. I have a hole in the cover with water shooting outta it is that normal? Where is water suposed to come outta the out drive when i hook water to it, it seems like water comes outta everywhere. Thanks for your help."

In the diagram are you talking about # 13, this is the water pump housing and should have a small vent hose attached. When running these things on muffs water will come out in several places especially if the exhaust bellows is the newer style with slits along the bottom."

the hole is in item 13 but the

the hole is in item 13 but there is only a hole in it no tube. I am not sure if there was a tube at one point but not now. I am just trying to ensure enough water is getting to the motor to cool it so the motor will not have any overheating issues.

I believe they call this the v

I believe they call this the vent tube. My outdrive water pump housing has a hose coming from the bottom of the housing and goes to the lower unit. #14 on above diagram. Not sure if this is actually a necessity but there was definately one there at some point I would imagine
