hi guys i have a mercury 115 hp outboard serial number oc106992 i recently rebuilt the powerhead and the lower unit worked perfectly before i removed the powerhead , i put the powerhead back on the lower section and went to slide the shifter to neutral to put the shift cable back on and the slider wont stay in neutral . i can hold it in neutral by hand but it wont lock into place , it will go into forward and reverse fine
when i put the powerhead on the shift lever was turned way out of its normal travel is it possible i turned it the wrong way thanks for any help in advance
