I bought a 1986 Yamaha 40 hp outboard. I replaced my lower unit oil and it came out looking lime green. It was a consistent lime green color (i.e. no separated water). I used OEM Yamaha washers for the drain and fill screws.
I use 90 weight Hypoid marine gear oil from West Marine.
I am not sure if I need to get this pressure tested or if this color is normal.
