Lower unit oil change 2003 150 hp

"I have 2003 Yamaha 150, with 375 hours. I am getting boat and motor ready for this summer.
The motor has performed great since I bought the boat 2 summers ago. I bought with no documented service log I have not done any particular service to it.
I know there is no oil change with the motor, but I understand there is a lower unit that has to have it's oil change every so often tell me when, how and is there any other maintenance scheduled at this time. Thanks Laz"

"I drop my lower unit on my 2003 150 Vmax every year and replace the impeller and change out the oil in the lower unit. Also, be sure to examine you shift shaft seal to be sure it is not leaking oil."
 
Tell me how easy is this proce

Tell me how easy is this process and can a person that has never taken apart the lower unit with limited mechanical knowledge be able to do this? and if so is there a site that goes step by step with pictures show you how to do it. Thanks

Okay looks and reads fairly easy now please send me info on removing the oil out of the lower unit first and in checking removal of the propeller I found that it has a mcgard lock and I dont have the key and no registration form with the manuals to give me codes to replace. How do you go about taking the lock off first so I can continue replacing the impeller with the kit. Thanks
