"I just had the lower unit of Merc Xr4 150 resealed about 6 weeks ago. I noticed a small amount of oil under it on the garage floor today and decided to check the gear lube just in case. When I removed the bottom screw all that came out was water. Upon further investigation it looks like the oil is leaking from where the carrier meets the case, just behind the large spanner nut. The prop shaft seal looks dry. There was a small amount of lube laying against the spanner nut. I plan to take it back to the dealer but is it something they could have done wrong or will I have to pay to have it sealed again?"

I would take it back to the dealer and demand to witness them taking it apart.Much damage could have been done by their mistake.And no you should not have to pay a cent for them to make it right.This is the most basic of jobs and if they can not do that then ??????????????
 
Well I took the unit back and

Well I took the unit back and the guy that did the work told me there was no way he was fixing it because his work does'nt go bad.He told me hat I had to do something to it. So instead of wasting my time with him i went up the road to another guy and he looked at it and said that it was never installed right. He fixed it and only charged me $50 to do it. I won't be doing any business with the first idiot anymore. thanks for your help guys.
