lower unit install hints

What hints and or info on installing an alpha 1 lower unit ?
I'm having a uneven cooling issue and inspection of water pump shows it in good shape(replaced last year)

A complete unit?
shifter in fwd
glue large rubber ring in place, install water outlet O ring, install gasket
use blocks to have the drive at the height of the transom
pour some soapy water in the drive water outlet hole to lube the impeller
shift drive into fwd so the prop is locked counterclockwise
insert input shaft turning the prop (bout 1 inch)counterclockwise to line up the shaft
push drive into place by hand to within a 1/8th inch, install nuts, tighten
