Will a lower unit from a 88'OMC looper V-6 (90 degree) fit a 2001 E'Rude FICHT 175HP ?

It might work, but I think the driveshafts may be different. I believe the diameter is larger on the late model at the top where it joins the crank. That would involve changing the shaft.
