Lower unit bearing?

Hey guys I have taken my lower unit completely apart in search of a problem and have not found any damaged parts. I am wondering if maybe the bearing is bad. How loose should the lower unit be if I spin the propeller. should it spin pretty free and smooth or is there suppose to be a descent amount of resistance?

Often times you will see one of these motors on the back of the boat on the highway.---Prop spinning.------So by hand you should be able to spin it with your pinky.

it spins freely in nuetral. I have dismantled the entiree thing there is no wear on the gears and no metal shavings what so ever. how free should it be when in gear?

In gear without the water pump it should be very easy to turn. Hardly any different than nuetral.

i will remove the water pump and check
