Lower motor mounts '04 Johnson 115

Shifting problems led me to discover that the lower mounts were corroded such that the shift rod was binding on the lower tube. Took me hours to remove the bolts and then the mounts were broken off on the front pieces. Question is how to remove the rest of the mounts without having to "go Russian" and take a torch or a grinder to this mess.
Perhaps some one out there has been there, done that, and has an elegant solution. Help!. Thanks

Removing corroded lower motor mounts, the Russian way-
Success! I saw a episode on TV where they had to remove a gun mount from a sunken warship without destroying the housing. Gave me ideas.!. Forget pounding on anything, like that steel pin if it's badly corroded. You will end up cracking the aluminum exhaust housing. Instead, get a 1/8th drill and remove metal from the mount at the rubber line, goes easier than it sounds. 2. create enough opening between the mount an the housing to insert a big fat long screwdriver and just pry. Out she comes. Worked for me. Hope this helps, cheers, Steve
