will a 1993 Johnson 70 lower-end fit on my 1992 Evinrude 60 motor

I drove 5 hrs almost to Arkansaw and picked up a Johnson lower-end. I'm looking at the end of the drive shafts and the Evinrude has 16 splines and the Johnson has 4 will changing the drive shafts make it work? Is there a special tool to install the gear and nut back on the driveshaft?

The coarse spline was last used in 1988 models.-----Both on Johnson and Evinrude.-----Exact same motors.
