"Can any give me any suggestions to look for
I have a VP AQ120b/270 drive the first time I took it out I got 5000 rpm on glass like lake,
now I can only get 4000-4200 same conditions
it has a 14x19 prop checked all timing marks and points.
I did put a 1.8 ohm resitor in the coil + side from the switch because I read it would burn the coil without.
( all the wires were hanging out of gauges when I bought it so I figured it was just missing.
would that resistor lower the top speed potential?"
