Low hour engines - potential issues

I’m looking at a 2008 boat with only 150 hours on the 6.2 320 HP engines. I know it hadn’t been out of storage since 2021 so even 2008 to 2021 is 23 years so slightly more than 10 hours per year.
It was professionally winterized every year it was used and has been stored in a climate controlled warehouse on a trailer when it wasn’t in the water.
Are there any engine/drive issues I should look out for related to lack of use?

I would inspect all the rubber components like hoses belts fuel lines etc in addition to the bellows. Likely the fuel has turned so may need to drain and clean fuel system. Would change the oil and gear lube might have corrosion on cap and rotor. Also would expect to change raw water pump impellers before heading out

Can you sea trial them?

I’ll definitely sea trail the boat and have the hull and engine’s surveyed.
It had a major service when it was last put away in the fall of 2021.
We’re still about $10k apart on the sale price but the dealer has been inching my way.

call him right before T-day....and if he balks, try again in mid-December....just make sure you have the financing arranged ahead of time...

I’ve been after this particular boat for more than a year.
The broker isn’t doing the owner any favors. It was priced so high in the beginning that I’m sure he got zero other calls. I told him at that time they were $40k high. Over the year, I’ve talked to them half a dozen times. The the boat was never pulled from the warehouse to be put in the water for the season so no showings, no test rides, the owner now lives in Europe and the price has dropped $30k. Another year of winter storage in the warehouse ($6k) could be saved by the owner if the broker would entertain my offer. We’re still $10k apart. I wish I knew how to find the owners contact info from the Coast Guard registration numbers, I’d bypass the dealer.

Yep, its amazing how many people have no clue what the time value of money is.....

The USCG doesn't do any 'registration' on vessels. that said, they do oversee the documentation process. I haven't looked in a while but there used to be a www site where you could look up the owner data on documented vessels - one could use the name or the ID number. If that's no longer viable, I'm sure the CG has it....and given the trend over the past couple decades, they would sell it long before they gave it away.
