Had problems with aq130c overh

Had problems with aq130c overheating and need to change the exhaust manifold i think. I thought i would check the compression levels to see if the engine was in good shape and they were

I tried this wet and dry no change. Is it time to repower or is it likely that i can rescue the old girl.

"The compression is low. Low c

"The compression is low. Low compression = leaky valves, leaky head gasket, worn piston rings. You need to do a leak-down test (pressurize the cylinders with compressed air) to determine whether the leaks are through valves or through piston rings, etc. If only through valves, a head job may suffice. If the leaks are through piston rings, you may need to re-ring, or re-bore, or both, or get another block/engine."

"By "wet" did you mean

"By "wet" did you mean that you put a small amount of oil in each cylinder before checking compression? IFSO, most likely head gasket shot and/or head possibly warped."

"All those numbers seem too low. I would check your timing belt to see if it has jumped a tooth. Normally I would expect to see a few higher ones with a few low ones. These are all low and I think something else is going on here.

Have a great day,

Rob."

"Just a quick question about t

"Just a quick question about the exhaust elbow. Looking down through the port on the elbow where the water pipe from the engine goes into, is there meant to be a small hole going through into the exhaust pipe part. I realise that water and exhaust gas have to mix, but i am not sure if it is meant to be there or not?"
