What key number is most likely good fit for 1978 Johnson Outboard. The key housing doesnt have a stamp and can't get Locksmith to make duplicate key. Appreciate any ideas.

Wish I had one like it.I have a key from my old garage overhead door locks (with the T handle) and it starts a remarkable number of boats.
Id be willing to pay for a duplicate plus postage. Desperate in Kansas.Wish I had one like it.
Being a '78 model, I would go to a few boat service shops and ask if they have collected keys over the decades. I started messing with keys and locks when I was in grade school, so "I'll try this one" is my first thought when I don't have the key to a lock, boat, etc.Id be willing to pay for a duplicate plus postage. The key in the photo is a bit blurry, but it shows the number- typical garage door key. I usually go to Ace hardware for keys and the numbers on this might work- if nothing else, you might be able to make it work- mine is fairly worn and that's probably the reason it works.
