i had a strange thing happen this weekend. We were about 15 miles out of our harbor running at 2800 rpm's. my port engine started to loose rpms fluctuating up/down from 2800 to 2000 for a few seconds then ok again. i backed down to 2200 rpms and it seemed to be happy there and the fluctuation stopped. Any ideas on what i should troubleshoot or what could cause this? this same motor just got new cap/rotor 9 months ago. carbs are new less than 2 yrs. i have racor fuel filters and the smaller napa metal ones going into the carb and there is less than 50hrs on them. no problems with the starboard motor. fuel was full and i just topped off 80 gallons before the trip. boat holds 200 gallons.
