losing prime 1998 115hp

i have a 98 115 spl evinrude and when starting up for the first time i have to prime the bulb about 25 times, if i cut it off for more than 10 mins i have to prime it again, is this normal? seems like after the first prime i would be good for the day.

not sure but the valve in the primer bulb might be failing
do you have another line that you can try like hook it up to a portable tank? and then see how it runs?

Check gas line connection to motor. worked for me.
