"I have an AQ131/275 that slows considerably when turning while underway. The steering works fine in both directions. The boat speeds back up when pointed straight again. When I was given the boat (a freebie) I was told the Gimbel bearing was going out. After reading up on the process of replacing the bearing, which I assume is the bearing for the drive gear, I began to wonder how much the u-joint might be causing the problem. Any input from the experienced minds on this board will be appreciated."

I do not remember if there is

I do not remember if there is a growl or not. I hope to have it in the water this weekend to check. That is as soon as I get a good battery.
