Loose water tube at the top of the motor

" I just figured out that I in

" I just figured out that I installed the lower unit wrong and didn't have the water tube in the impellar housing. It was pushed to one side. Now, after fixing that, I noticed that is feels loose and wiggly. Is that normal? I heard that there may be a seal that I broke when I installed the lower unit wrong. The motor isn't overheating and the tell-tale hole has water shooting out . . .
All help/comments/suggestions are welcome.
I have the clymers, but no mention.

Thanks,

Jason "

"Jason.... You didn't list

"Jason.... You didn't list whatever engine you're speaking of, but I think it's a 1983 50hp. At any rate, that water tube does flop around quite a bit on some engines (the 50hp being one of them). If it pumps water and doesn't overheat, don't be concerned about it.

" Joe, once again, I am in you

" Joe, once again, I am in your debt. Thank you for setting my mind at ease. No problems with overheating. Ran it for a good 10 min. tonight and was able to count to 6+ seconds before my fingers got hot.
Got most of the H2O guage installed tonight. The hose that I am running to the tale-tell was about 12" to short. Close, but no cigar. That is the last of the guages. I now have tach, speed, volts, and water pressure(almost).

Anyway, thanks again, Joe. You have/are helping me with a (basically) complete reconditioning of my boat and motor.
Like I said before, anytime you feel like fishin' and are in this neck of the woods, let me know and we'll head out.
I am sure I'll be helpless again in the not too distant future and come beggin' help again, so thanks also with the patience.

Jason "
