I have a 87 225 evinrude with 6 carbs.. Is it a looper or cross flow ??? also a good engine ??

Had alot of plug fouling, over oiling and rough idle issues. Been chasing the problem all summer. Turned out to be thermostats that were stuck in the open position. Block surface temperatures were only reaching 94 deg F. I have a engine temp gauge, but I was only noting that it was not running too hot. Had no idea that 2 Cycles don't like to be run too cool!!!"
