Looking for more agressive prop

I've got an '84 Yamaha 4-stroke, long shaft on a 16 foot '79 Alumaweld driftboat. Engine runs great. The new 9.25x9 3-blade prop on there now couldn't pull the hat off your head.

I've got a chance to buy a 4-blade 9.25x11 prop for a good price. Would this be out of line, or might I damage the engine?

I use the boat for fishing and contract work on the Rogue River. Nothing considered high-performance, but I would like to travel a little faster than ducks swim.

9.9 on a 16' boat is " bare minimum " power.----Sounds like you need 25 HP.

I was thinking the same thing earlier this year, but having seen other 16's with 9.9, I figured it was the proper size.

Maybe it's time to go shopping!
