"I have an 1973 115 hp that is fireing on cyls 1&3. I suspect that the sensor coil is bad for cyls 2&4. I have already but in a new power pack and charge coil assy. I do have a shop service manual. I says to check ohms on sensor wires 1 & 3 , senor wires 2 & 4 should be 835 ohms +/- 1.0 ohms. I get 11.2 ohms on both sensor wires and I have also checked for each sensor wire going to ground which they do not. These system check out fine but I have a feeling I am missing something or I have a bad sensor coil.

thanks
Kevin"

"With an ohm meter set to low

"With an ohm meter set to low ohms, with the meter leads connected between the timer base sensor wires, I believe the reading should be 8.5 ohms +/- 2.0 ohms.

I don't know where you're getting that 835 ohm info from but I'd assume you're speaking of the charging system portion of the stator.

One sensor triggers 1 & 3, the other sensor triggers 2 & 4.

If you obtain the proper reading (or not), check for a poor connection, broken wire, something of that nature."
