Ricardo/El Pescador looking for your expertise.
History- 2000 5.7GSi with 1117 hours. Bottom end original. 2 sets of heads and manifolds/risers, last set installed last season. Spring launch, all new filters, complete tune. New circulating pump, thermostat and housing, knock sensor, fresh fuel. Ran perfectly in driveway. Next day engine stalled at ramp going into gear and after a few re-starts finally stopped catching. Pulled air cleaner, injectors were spraying and then went dead. I assumed the ECM went into clear flood mode because initially I thought I may have flooded the engine and opened throttle to clear. Cracked high and low pressure fuel lines and both appeared to be under pressure. Pulled boat back home and started SELOC troubleshooting. Initial testing indicated issue on low pressure side of fuel cell. Replaced fuel cell with OEM VP. Still not starting and injectors not spraying. Engine will start with fuel sprayed into TBI. Code reader flashing normal 12 code. Checked all connections and grounds and everything appears perfect. Injectors getting voltage and all SELOC diagnostics appear to point to defective ECM. This is original ECM 14+ years old.
Before I drop some big bucks on ECM did I miss something? The new fuel cell cycles correctly and has pressure. Could it be something with the sensors preventing the ECM from sending a signal to the injectors? I reinstalled the ECT sensor in the new housing with Teflon tape but have always done this with no issues. Haven't touched the MAP, TP, IAC; all connections are clean.
Thank you, Ray
