looking for 3.0 omc

i am looking for a 3.0 omc, the one that i have is worn real bad and needs replaced it is an 84, where can i get one

Search your local Kijiji or Craigslist
Any 3.0 Mercruiser, or 3.0 OMC pre-1990 will be a candidate to replace your engine.

There are sellers of new 3.0 marine engines, but they won't work for you because your drive coupler only fits the crank flange of earlier engines.

If I got a mercruiser woud I have to buy a new manafold and everything?? Starter? Water pump? head?

The head is the same the mani has to be omc so does the riser, if your old one are good use them. everythignelase is the same except the carb, a merc carb needs a adaptor plate to fit the mani of a omc use the old one.

Or if the motor is complete to the riser and it's a merc you can try and get creative to match up the exhaust.

A volvo one would probably have the correct riser, and mani with any creativety
