Lookig for help on no spark, mercruiser 165

I seem to have no spark this season firing her up. new plugs wires cap rotor points condenser, coil, ign key, but spark tester is nada. coil has power, dist. has power, ign. key has power, neutral safety switch tests good, im lost ..

there is no grey wire, only 2 browns and a black which goes to the dist.. and i dont see this purple wire everyone keeps saying is the ballast resistor wire. i do have spark now but what is strange is i cannot get spark on my tester between the coil and dist, but i have spark between the dist and plugs anyways i now have spark but it wont fire. plugs are great but not a fart or pop even on ether.

the tach connects to the neg side of the coil ,, so either is been disconnected or you do not have a working tach
is this a inline 6 or the inline FWC 4 cylinder

Ayuh,.... The coil is fired by groundin' it,..... very rapidly, by the points,.....
