LM 318 push rod broke through rocker arm

It seems like my oil ports may be clogged on the 2 and 4 cylinders on my 1978 LM318 after replacing the head gaskets. The rocker shaft was dry towards the front of the motor and the push rod broke through the first rocker arm. Are the oil ports clogged? How do I clear them? Do you think that's the problem?

Were you getting sufficient oil to the rear two? SAVE0015.jpg

I believe the oil passage runs up the head between 6 and 8 cylinders. Check the rocker shaft and rockers for correct installation. If you had the rockers off the shaft, things can get mixed up on assembly if care is not taken.

Also, when you have the shaft off, run a small bottle brush down the rocker shaft bolt hole to check for any obstruction.
