Little Advice e for a newbie

Hello everyone, new to the forum and all things boating, I've just purchased a second hand yamaha 20 dmo to replace the cheap Chinese motor that came with the boat, can anyone tell me what these 2 levers are for? Tilt /trim lock?

Find yourself an owners manual. Some manufacturers offer a free downloadable manual, not sure if Yamaha does.

Looks to be a 1988 model year motor as you suggest. Would be more or less the equivalent of a Yamaha USA model 20MLHU. Copy of an Owner's manual can be found here https://www.yamahapubs.com/home/search?category_id=4&year=1996&family_name=20MLHU
