linkage 1995 90hp

I was running on Monday, I have a 1995 90 HP Johnson and the motor started bogging down with the throttle advanced, but would run awesome at idle. I found that the throttle lever link was not connect on the top carburetor. I'm not sure if the throttle link broke or the carburetor throttle retainer broke.

How is the throttle lever link supposed to connect to the retainer? Is it supposed to snap in? Trying to figure out how its supposed to properly connect

if I remember right it snaps in.

It snaps in, tonite I went and took another look at it to see how the bottom one connects. This time i pushed alittle harder and the top snapped into place into the retainer....piece of cake!!!
